Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has distanced his party, National Conference, from the controversy over 'vote chori' raised by the Congress. The opposition INDIA bloc, which Abdullah's party is a part of, has no involvement in the issue. Yesterday, top Congress leaders accused the BJP of electoral irregularities at a rally, claiming that 'vote chori' is embedded in the ruling party's DNA. Abdullah pointed out that every party has its own agenda and the Congress has chosen to focus on 'vote chori' and the Special Intensive Revision of the voter list. The Congress claims to have collected over 6 crore signatures against 'vote theft' and plans to present them to President Droupadi Murmu. Abdullah, however, stated that the INDIA bloc has no stake in the issue, and it's up to the Congress to pursue their agenda. This development comes amidst the ongoing Parliament winter session, where various issues, including electoral reforms, are being discussed. The Congress has been vocal about its concerns regarding electoral irregularities, while the BJP has maintained its stance on the matter.
