External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar has concluded a productive visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), where he met the country's top leaders ahead of a historic visit to Israel. The visit to the UAE marked Jaishankar's participation in the prestigious Sir Bani Yas Forum, which brought together regional and international leaders to discuss peace, security, and economic cooperation. As part of his UAE visit, Jaishankar co-chaired the India-UAE joint commission and strategic dialogue with Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The two leaders discussed ways to deepen economic and defence cooperation between their countries, with a focus on shared interests and mutual benefits. Jaishankar's meetings with UAE Vice President Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and Khaldoon Khalifa Al Mubarak, CEO of Mubadala Investment Company, highlighted the growing bilateral ties between India and the UAE. The two sides explored opportunities for economic cooperation and strengthening their strategic partnership. Following his UAE visit, Jaishankar is set to arrive in Israel on Tuesday, where he will hold bilateral consultations with his Israeli counterpart, Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar. The visit comes after Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke on the phone, agreeing to meet soon. India and Israel have made significant progress in recent months, with several Israeli ministers visiting India and signing key agreements, including a bilateral investment treaty and the terms of reference for a free trade agreement. Jaishankar's visit to Israel is expected to further enhance bilateral ties and explore new areas of cooperation.
