Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced that India's reforms are no longer driven by crisis management or political interests, but by a 'nation first' vision for growth. Speaking at the Hindustan Times Leadership Summit 2025 in New Delhi, the PM highlighted the country's progress in various sectors, citing the introduction of a next-generation Goods and Services Tax (GST) and major reforms in the direct tax system as significant achievements. The PM also emphasized the importance of the private sector in driving India's growth, particularly in the space sector. He mentioned the example of Skyroot Aerospace, a private space startup that aims to produce a rocket every month, which was recently inaugurated by the PM. According to Modi, India's approach to reforms has changed significantly over the past decade, with a focus on national growth and development. He noted that the country is now at a juncture where it is emerging as a leader in the global arena, despite facing various challenges. The summit, which was attended by senior ministers, industry leaders, and experts, also saw interactive sessions with notable personalities, including actors Hugh Grant and Aamir Khan. In his address, the PM also mentioned the India of today as a country that is full of uncertainties, but is appearing in a different league compared to other nations. He emphasized that the world has seen many ups and downs over the past 21 years, including financial crises and global pandemics, but India has managed to navigate these challenges and emerge stronger. The PM's 'nation first' vision for India's reforms is expected to have a positive impact on the country's growth and development in the coming years.
