Prime Minister Narendra Modi delivered a stirring keynote address at the 23rd Hindustan Times Leadership Summit, outlining his vision for India's growth and development. Speaking on a range of topics, from the country's economic progress to the role of women in society, PM Modi emphasized the importance of a 'nation first' approach in driving reforms. At the summit, which concluded on December 6, the Prime Minister highlighted India's growth rate, citing the 8% GDP figure for Quarter 2 as a reflection of the country's new momentum. He also noted that India is emerging as a key growth driver of the global economy, driven by its high growth and low inflation model. PM Modi also touched on the theme of 'nari shakti' or women's empowerment, praising the contributions of Indian women in various fields and calling for a society that values and supports their growth. The Prime Minister set a 10-year deadline to rid the country of the colonial mindset, which he believes has held India back for centuries. In his address, PM Modi also condemned the linking of India's growth to the Hindu faith, calling it an example of 'slave mentality'. He emphasized the need for a more inclusive and forward-thinking approach to development, one that prioritizes national growth and progress. The Hindustan Times Leadership Summit, which took place from December 4-6, brought together several dignitaries, including External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, and actors Hugh Grant and Aamir Khan. The event's theme, 'Transforming Tomorrow', provided a platform for leaders to share their insights and ideas on key issues facing the country and the world.
