Congress MP Shashi Tharoor has put an end to speculation surrounding his absence from the 'Vote Chor Gaddi Chhod' rally in Delhi's Ramlila Maidan. Speaking to reporters on Monday, Tharoor clarified that he was abroad the previous day due to a prior commitment made six months ago. 'From my side, everything is fine,' he assured news agency ANI. Tharoor's response comes as the Indian National Congress continues to campaign against alleged electoral irregularities in the 2024 assembly and Lok Sabha elections. The opposition party held a rally in Delhi's Ramlila Maidan on Sunday, reiterating its concerns over the SIR exercise and its impact on the country. Tharoor's absence from the rally has sparked headlines, with the Congress MP previously making news for skipping a meeting chaired by Rahul Gandhi and praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi's speech, which drew backlash from his Congress colleagues. However, according to party sources, Tharoor had informed the Congress of his absence from the meeting.
