The San Francisco 49ers are facing a setback as wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk is reportedly facing a misdemeanor charge of exhibition of speed in North Carolina.
An arrest warrant was issued for the 28-year-old Aiyuk, who allegedly filmed himself driving at high speed and uploaded the footage to his YouTube channel in December last year.
The video, which was later shared by a popular NFL-focused X account, shows Aiyuk driving at around 100mph past Levi's Stadium while singing along to music.
Aiyuk initially apologized for his actions on social media, but the case was forwarded to prosecutors after a Santa Clara police investigation.
The 49ers wide receiver, a first-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, has been dealing with a knee injury that has kept him out of an NFL game since the 2024 season.
