Alabama guard Aden Holloway, the team's second-leading scorer, was arrested on a felony drug charge Monday, just days before the start of the NCAA Tournament. The 21-year-old was arrested after a search of a residence near campus yielded over a pound of marijuana, paraphernalia, and cash.
Holloway, who averages 16.8 points per game and leads the Crimson Tide in 3-point shooting, was taken to the local jail and released on a $5,000 bond. He has been removed from campus pending further investigation by the UA Office of Student Conduct.
The university stated that it is aware of the allegations and is working to gather more information. Holloway's arrest comes as Alabama prepares to face Hofstra in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament on Friday in Tampa, Florida.
