Mumbai: Novak Djokovic, 39, was involved in a thrilling match at the French Open, where he ultimately lost to Joao Fonseca in five sets. Despite the loss, Djokovic praised his opponent's performance, saying it was an 'incredible match to be part of.'

Fonseca, 19, became only the second player to come back from two sets down and beat Djokovic in five sets, a feat last achieved by Jurgen Melzer at the 2010 French Open.

Djokovic, who has been battling injury this season, put on a good display, hitting more winners than Fonseca and conceding fewer unforced errors. However, he ultimately ran out of gas, allowing Fonseca to take the win.

The loss marks the first time since 2009 that Djokovic has failed to reach at least the quarter-final of the French Open. However, he remains optimistic about his chances at Wimbledon, where he has won seven titles.
