Indian badminton duo Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty have finally found their rhythm after months of struggling with injury. They reached the men's doubles final at the Singapore Badminton Open, beating top seeds Kim Won Ho and Seo Seung Jae of South Korea 21-19, 21-18 in 52 minutes.
The win marked their first victory over the reigning world, Asian and All England champions, and snapped their 34-match winning streak. The duo will face Indonesian third seeds Fajar Alfian and Muhammad Shohibul Fikri in the final.
Rankireddy and Shetty have been on a roll, reaching the business end of tournaments, including three finals, but are yet to win a title since the Thailand Open in May 2024. They will face a tough challenge against Alfian and Fikri, who have a 2-1 record against the Indians.
