In a stunning display of speed, Gurindervir Singh became the fastest Indian ever on the track, clocking 10.09 seconds in the 100m dash.

The record-breaking feat was achieved at the Birsa Munda Athletics Stadium, where Gurindervir edged out Animesh Kujur by 0.11 seconds.

This achievement not only marked a new national record but also breached the 2026 Commonwealth Games qualifying time of 10.16 seconds set by the Athletics Federation of India (AFI).

Gurindervir's impressive time of 10.09 seconds is the second-fastest time by an Asian this season, behind Japanese sprinter Fukuto Komuro's 10.08 seconds.

Meanwhile, another Indian athlete, Vishal TK, also made history by becoming the first Indian to run 400m in under 45 seconds, clocking 44.98 seconds.
