The Indianapolis 500 was temporarily halted due to rain, with Scott Dixon leading the leaderboard at the time of the red flag.
The race was stopped after 106 laps, with the field having completed over 101 laps, meeting the minimum distance required for a completed Indy 500.
The stoppage lasted nine minutes, and the race resumed after four additional caution laps, leaving around 90 laps remaining in the 200-lap event.
Dixon would have secured his second Indy 500 victory had the race been called permanently, 18 years after his first win in 2008.
The Indy 500 leaderboard at the time of the red flag was: Scott Dixon, Alex Palou, David Malukas, Josef Newgarden, Scott McLaughlin, Pato O’Ward, Felix Rosenqvist, Marcus Ericsson, Conor Daly, and Marcus Armstrong.
