NBA Legend Rick Adelman Passes Away at 79: Remembering the Hall of Fame Coach

Rick Adelman, a veteran NBA coach and Hall of Famer, has passed away at 79, the National Basketball Coaches Association confirmed. The cause of death was not immediately announced.

Adelman won 1,042 games as an NBA coach, the 10th-most in league history, and guided the Portland Trail Blazers to two NBA Finals appearances.

He also served as head coach of the Sacramento Kings, Houston Rockets, Minnesota Timberwolves, and Golden State Warriors during his distinguished career.

Adelman will be remembered as a mentor to many in the basketball community and a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.

The Sacramento Kings organization released a statement mourning the loss of the Hall of Fame coach, saying he represented the gold standard of Sacramento basketball for an entire generation of fans.
