New England Patriots coach Mike Vrabel has been at the center of attention this offseason, but his past relationship with wide receiver AJ Brown has been a key talking point. As the Patriots consider trading for Brown, Vrabel remained tight-lipped during a recent press conference, saying only "I don't know" when asked about the potential deal.
Despite Vrabel's ambiguous response, reports suggest that the Patriots are a frontrunner to sign Brown, who finished the 2025-26 NFL season with 78 receptions for 1,003 receiving yards and 7 touchdowns. Insider Jason McCourty has even gone as far as to say that Brown's signing with the Patriots is "almost a done deal."
Senior NFL Insider Adam Schefter has also echoed this sentiment, stating that a move to New England "makes sense" for Brown and that Vrabel's influence is a big reason why the 28-year-old veteran receiver will likely join the Patriots.
