The Indian football world is in mourning after the sudden and tragic loss of young defender Ravinder Singh, who passed away at the age of 25 while playing in a local league in Punjab.
Ravinder, contracted to Namdhari FC in the Indian Football League, collapsed with chest pain during a tournament in Bachhauri and was rushed to a private hospital, where he was declared dead.
A solemn funeral was held in Ravinder's hometown, attended by family members, friends, and fellow players, with several football clubs across the country paying tribute to his memory on social media.
Namdhari FC, Minerva Punjab, Gokulam Kerala, and Bengaluru FC released statements and messages of support, with the IFL announcing that all matches in the forthcoming round of fixtures would observe a minute of silence in Ravinder's memory.
