Google's latest Pixel 10a smartphone may look like a significant upgrade, but it's essentially a minor refresh of the Pixel 9a. With a hefty price tag of ₹49,999, it's hard to justify the extra cost when last year's model is available for ₹39,999.
The Pixel 10a runs on the same Google Tensor G4 chip with 8GB memory, has a 6.3-inch screen, and features a 48-megapixel wide and 13-megapixel ultra-wide cameras. While the peak brightness has been boosted to 3,000 nits, the battery capacity remains at 5,100mAh.
The biggest positive is the dual camera setup at the back, which sits flush with the phone's body. However, the lack of a dedicated telephoto camera means zoomed-in photos will rely on cropping from the main sensor, leading to a loss of crispness.
The camera experience is still the Pixel 10a's trump card, with features like Camera Coach and Auto Best Take. However, the phone's performance is not without its drawbacks, including heating issues and a lack of 7-year longevity with security updates.
Ultimately, the question is whether the minor upgrades are enough to justify the extra cost. If you're looking for a capable Android phone with a great camera experience, the Pixel 10a may be worth considering. But if you're on a budget, last year's Pixel 9a is still a great option.
