Oscar-nominated filmmaker Yorgos Lanthimos has paused his filmmaking schedule to showcase his photography skills in an exhibition in Athens.
The 52-year-old Greek director has presented 182 photographs, taken over the past five years, in color and black and white.
The exhibition features portraits of frequent collaborator Emma Stone, who received an Oscar nomination for her role in Lanthimos' latest film, 'Bugonia.'
Lanthimos, known for his distinctive cinematic style, has found photography to be a creative outlet separate from movie production.
He describes the process of shooting and developing film as offering immediacy and satisfaction, unlike the complex machinery of movie production.
The exhibition at the Onassis Foundation runs through May 17, just days before Lanthimos returns to Hollywood for the Academy Awards ceremony.
