Steve Carell's new series 'Rooster' delves into the complexities of father-daughter relationships, a theme inspired by a personal experience with his own adult daughter. In the show, Carell plays Greg Russo, a successful author who takes a job at a small liberal arts school to stay close to his daughter Katie, a professor.
The series, created by Bill Lawrence and Matt Tarses, is Carell's first outright television comedy since leaving 'The Office' in 2011. Carell credits Lawrence's unique tone and style for drawing him in instantly.
