BJP leader K Annamalai has asked reporters to wait two days before speculating about his future in the party, amid rumors of his possible exit and the launch of a new political outfit.
Ahead of a meeting with BJP leader Nitin Nabin in Delhi, Annamalai said, 'Please wait. We will sit down and talk in two days.'
Speculation about Annamalai's future in the party has been circulating since he was replaced as the state president by Nainar Nagendran, and intensified after the BJP's poor performance in recent elections.
According to reports, Annamalai may be planning to launch his own political outfit, which could contest upcoming assembly by-elections in Tamil Nadu.
A BJP leader reportedly said, 'Annamalai feels there is no opportunity and future for him in the BJP.'
Amid the speculation, Annamalai has maintained a low profile since being replaced as state president, and has criticized the CBSE's decision to implement the three-language policy for Class 9 students.
