West Bengal chief minister Suvendu Adhikari inaugurated a new Bharatiya Janata Party office in Bhabanipur Ward No. 71, amidst his visit to the historic Taraknath Temple in Tarakeswar, Hooghly district.

Speaking to ANI, Adhikari emphasized the importance of preserving the temple's heritage and its spiritual significance, stating that the government will change the colour to saffron from blue and white to reflect its significance.

He also highlighted the historical significance of Tarakeswar, where a historic resolution was passed in April 1946 under the leadership of Syama Prasad Mookerjee, asserting that Bengal would remain a part of India.

Furthermore, Adhikari announced the rollout of the first phase of direct cash transfers under the Annapurna scheme, which commenced today, and emphasized that only those who comply with the law will receive financial assistance.
