A viral video has sparked an investigation into a petrol pump in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, after a car owner alleged he was overcharged for fuel.
Charan Singh, the owner of a Volkswagen Virtus, claimed that despite his car's 45-litre tank, he was handed a bill for 52 litres of petrol.
Singh questioned the pump staff, who told him that large volumes of fuel are filled in two instalments, and the company official confirmed that the vehicle's tank could not hold more than 45 litres.
The fuel pump official has since stated that the complaint is being investigated and measurements have been carried out, with everything found to be correct.
However, the car owner remains unconvinced, citing the discrepancy between the stated fuel tank capacity and the amount of fuel pumped.
