A devastating fire in Delhi's Malviya Nagar has claimed 21 lives, with at least 18 foreign nationals among the victims. The victims hailed from countries including Nigeria, Mozambique, Bangladesh, Somalia, Liberia, and Afghanistan.

The fire broke out in a five-storey bed and breakfast building in the Hauz Rani area, with officials suspecting a short circuit as the cause. The building had a basement, ground floor, and five upper floors, with the restaurant operating on the ground floor and the rest used as a hotel.

Police personnel were injured while extinguishing the fire and during the rescue operation, with 10 personnel receiving treatment. The police launched an immediate rescue work, with teams rushing to the spot after receiving the PCR call.
