A massive fire broke out at a bed-and-breakfast in Malviya Nagar, Delhi, killing at least 21 people, including 18 foreign nationals, and injuring several others.

The foreigners were mainly from Central Asian and African countries, officials said.

The rescue operation has been completed, and the blaze has been fully extinguished, according to Delhi Divisional Officer Ravinder Singh.

The Delhi Police has registered an FIR under charges of culpable homicide in connection with the case.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has condoled the loss of lives and announced financial assistance for the victims' families and those injured.
