A massive fire at a bed-and-breakfast facility in south Delhi's Malviya Nagar has claimed at least 21 lives, with dozens of others undergoing treatment, according to the latest statement issued by Max Hospital, Saket Complex.
The hospital said it received 39 patients at its Emergency Department following the fire incident, with 18 brought dead and 15 admitted to the ICU. Among them, eight patients are on ventilator support and remain in critical condition.
The hospital activated its mass-casualty response protocols and mobilised all available clinical and support resources to provide timely treatment to those affected. Authorities are still investigating the exact cause of the blaze.
