India and the US held constructive and positive discussions on an interim bilateral trade agreement, with both sides committed to taking the deal forward.
A US delegation from the office of the US Trade Representative (USTR) visited India from June 1-4 to continue talks on the trade agreement.
Following the discussions, the Indian side said the US is committed to moving forward with the bilateral trade agreement.
The two countries had issued a joint statement in February about finalising a framework for an interim agreement regarding reciprocal and mutually beneficial trade.
The US negotiating team discussed a wide range of issues, including trade in goods, non-tariff measures, customs and trade facilitation, and economic security alignment.
