Seven Killed, 40 Injured in Maharashtra Bus Crash Near Surat

At least seven people were killed and around 40 injured in a bus collision near Surat, Gujarat. Two Maharashtra state-run buses collided on National Highway No. 53, with one catching fire.

The incident occurred near Uva village, and the deceased were all traveling in the bus that caught fire. The bus was traveling from Surat to Dhule when it hit a tractor, lost balance, and collided with another bus coming from the opposite direction.

Teams of police, fire brigade, and officials rushed to the spot and launched rescue operations. The injured were shifted to Bardoli hospital, and the deceased were identified as passengers in the bus that caught fire.

State Transport Minister Pratap Sarnaik announced a financial assistance of ₹10 lakh each to the families of those killed in the accident. The MSRTC chairman also paid tributes to the passengers and employees who lost their lives.
