The West Bengal government has launched the Annapurna Yojana, providing 28.25 lakh women with ₹3,000 monthly aid in the first phase.
Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari inaugurated the scheme, stating that 28,25,769 verified beneficiaries had been enrolled through a coordinated effort.
The chief minister promised to include all eligible beneficiaries, with fresh applications accepted and verification completed over the next three months.
₹3,000 will be transferred to the beneficiaries' accounts once verification is completed.
The government will hold periodic briefings to inform people about the number of verified beneficiaries and newly enrolled recipients.
The Annapurna Yojana is dedicated to the empowerment of women and their contributions to society.
