The basketball world is in shock after the sudden death of Memphis Grizzlies forward Brandon Clarke at 29. An investigation into his death is ongoing, with reports suggesting it may be related to an overdose.
Ja Morant, Clarke's teammate, was one of the first to react, sharing a series of heartfelt posts on social media.
Despite rumors of a potential trade, Morant expressed his grief and admiration for Clarke, who joined the Grizzlies in 2019. The two players had spent seven seasons together in the NBA.
Morant shared a photo of the two of them from their rookie year, as well as a video of them celebrating a win. His caption read: 'still out goat. BC15.'
The Memphis Grizzlies also released a statement, describing Clarke as an 'outstanding teammate and an even better person' whose impact on the team and community would not be forgotten.
