Missouri Tigers running back Ahmad Hardy was shot at a concert in Mississippi on May 10 and underwent surgery the same day. Hardy, a native of Brookhaven, Mississippi, is in stable condition and there's optimism he'll play football again, although a timeline for his return is unknown.

Hardy, one of the most productive running backs in college football, led the SEC in rushing yards in 2025 with 1,649 yards and 6.4 yards per carry. He transferred to Missouri before his sophomore season and showed his talent at Louisiana-Monroe as a freshman, running for 1,351 yards.
