New Delhi: Pukhraj Singh Gill has finally achieved an international win after eight years as a professional golfer. The Ludhiana-born golfer won the ADT Players Championship at the Saujana Golf and Country Club in Shah Alam, Malaysia, in a thrilling three-way playoff.

Gill's win doesn't come as a surprise, given his recent run of form. He won the IGPL Order of Merit in December last year and had a joint-best Indian finish at the International Series in Singapore in April.

With this win, Gill has gained the confidence to pursue bigger goals, including winning a major and getting into the top-50 in the world. He believes it's not impossible, citing Briton Aaron Rai's win at the PGA Championship.

Gill is part of a generation of domestic pros who have struggled to make a mark in international golf. However, he believes that with maturity and experience, things will change.

Gill has found success by relying on his long game and taking ownership of his results. He has stuck to his no-coach, no-permanent-caddy policy and is now headed to Morocco for three events, including the IGPL Rising Stars and the Asian Tour's Bharath Classic.

Gill's year-end goal is to finish inside the top-10 of the ADT to secure a season card for 2027.
