Luis de la Fuente has named Spain's 2026 World Cup squad, led by 18-year-old Lamine Yamal, with no Real Madrid player included for the first time in World Cup history.

Arsenal midfielder Mikel Merino has been called up after recovering from a foot fracture, while defenders Eric Garcia and Marc Pubill have also earned spots in the squad.

Teenager Yamal, who suffered a hamstring injury with Barcelona in late April, is a doubt for the first matches of the tournament.

Goalkeepers: Unai Simon (Athletic Bilbao), David Raya (Arsenal), Joan Garcia (Barcelona)

Defenders: Marcos Llorente, Marc Pubill (Atlético Madrid), Pedro Porro (Tottenham), Aymeric Laporte (Athletic Bilbao), Eric García, Pau Cubarsí (Barcelona), Marc Cucurella (Chelsea), Alejandro Grimaldo (Bayer Leverkusen)

Forwards: Yeremy Pino (Crystal Palace), Víctor Muñoz (Osasuna), Mikel Oyarzabal (Real Sociedad), Ferran Torres, Lamine Yamal, Dani Olmo (Barcelona), Nico Williams (Athletic Bilbao), Borja Iglesias (Celta Vigo)
