New Delhi, Sweety Kujur has been named captain of the 18-member Indian women's U-18 hockey squad for the Asia Cup tournament in Japan from May 29-June 6.
The squad features a mix of experienced and young players, including forwards Nousheen Naz, Priyanka Minz, and Sandeepa Kumari, and midfielders Shruti Kumari and Sneha Davde.
After several weeks of preparation at the national camp in Bhopal, the team is ready to face some of Asia's strongest teams, including Korea, Malaysia, and Singapore.
India will open their campaign against Malaysia on May 30, followed by a clash against Korea on May 31.
The top two teams from each pool will progress to the semi-finals on June 5, with the final scheduled for June 6.
