Lakshya Sen has been ruled out of India's Thomas Cup semi-final clash against France due to a swollen right elbow. He will be replaced by Kidambi Shrikant in the team.

Sen had saved two match points to help India notch up a 3-0 win over Chinese Taipei in the quarterfinals on Friday.

He hurt his elbow while diving for a shot during an intense rally and is currently under close medical observation.

The team remains confident about his swift recovery and return to peak form, and India is assured of a medal after reaching the semifinals.

With Lakshya unavailable, Ayush Shetty will play the opening singles against Christo Popov, while Srikanth will feature in the second singles against Alex Lanier.

HS Prannoy will then take on Toma Junior Popov in the third singles, and the team will be led by Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty in the doubles.
